Adam

My roommate S brought this movie home the other day and I found it incredibly adorable. It is a quirky love story about a Man with Aspergers Syndrome who falls in love with a woman who has just moved into his building. Aspergers Syndrome is on the Autism spectrum, after spending 4 years working with children and adolescents with varying degrees of Autism, I know how hard it is for these individuals to connect with other people. The movie was so sweet in the ways that Adam shows Elizabeth, his love interest, how he cares about her. I found it touching as i can't seem to find a "typical" man who is willing to show affection in the ways Adam does for Elizabeth. I highly recommend this one, snuggled up with a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon.

Little Bundle of Joy

My dear friend and former roommate Heidi gave birth to a beautiful little girl yesterday morning. They named her Karina Hunter, which is so beautiful. I cant wait to meet the little bean. I'm trying to find just the right birthday present to bring her. I think any one of these found at The Miniature Knit Shop on Etsy.com would be perfect.

Mushaboom

Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh

But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay

Old dirt road,
knee deep snow
Watching the fire as we grow...old.

I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house oh
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done oh

How many acres, how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map

What do I say on this january day...

When all my thoughts have gone astray

Im going hiking this weekend and this is what I hope to see. Im heading down to Matunuck to walk at Trustom Pond, Ive been hearing that there is quite a lot of Fox and Deer. Im hoping to get some lovely picture either way and get going on my goal to add more of my own photos to the blog.

Im excited to get back to hiking, last year i went just about every weekend. I was living in South County and it felt like nature was just more accessable. I could walk out my front door and see the ocean and a good hiking trail was only a short drive away. Living in the city is tough, as much as I love it and how close everything is I miss beach and woods and bars with a view of the ocean.
